Zed is an application suite that helps development teams organize, coordinate, and automate their day to day tasks so that the majority of their time can be spent doing productive things, rather than mundane things. Zed provides multiple components that help to make development life easier so that your group's creativity can be applied to the task of creating software, rather than to the task of managing administrivia.
Zed provides Build Management and Task Tracking applications along with this Wiki for group collaboration in design, discussion, and requirements gathering and tracking.
Zed is built as a pure web application that incorporates the latest in JavaScript, AJAX, and JSON technologies. The deployment of a Zed server requires only the availability of a 1.6 JRE, and the download of a single Jar file to manage the installation. Zed will auto-configure itself upon installation, and the rest of the installation and setup is handled through the Zed website. See the Zed Technology page for more information about how Zed is architected and designed.
Zed is a tool for development teams, and it is also the tool that we use to track the development and management of Zed itself. Your Team Documents can be added to your own Wiki, by opening up the Team Documents view from the Zed Documentation view menu.
